Membership offers are available at leisure centres this September.
In line with National Fitness Day on Wednesday 26 September, Durham County Council leisure centres are offering membership discounts.
Between 26 and 30 September, customers wishing to join their local leisure centre on a gym or swimming membership can do so for an initial payment of only £5 with nothing more to pay until November 2018.
For those wanting a taster, a free one-day pass is available to any new customers who visit a centre on 26 September. The free pass entitles visitors to try out the gym, participate in a vast choice of fitness classes and try swimming where it is available.
Andy Brown, the council’s principal physical activity manager said: “Whether visitors are looking to get back into swimming or try the gym for the first time, this is a great chance to try out the leisure centres and get started on their fitness journey.”
Leisure centres include Chester-le-Street Leisure Centre, Riverside Leisure Complex, Abbey Leisure Centre, Freeman’s Quay Leisure Centre, Meadowfield Leisure Centre, Spennymoor Leisure Centre, Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex, Shildon-Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, Teesdale Leisure Centre, Consett Leisure Centre, and the Louisa Centre.
