Dear Sir,
Yet again another pet has been killed in Newton Aycliffe, the third little dog I am aware of in the last 12 months. There are also many more who have suffered attacks.
The irresponsible owners of these killer dogs should be punished more severely than just a fine. Owners of smaller animals are frightened to take their pets for a walk on a lead.
Some owners of small dogs treat their pets like children and are devastated and traumatised when they are hurt or killed.
I believe owners of these aggressive dogs should be sued for damages and trauma caused. Perhaps if they faced having to pay substantial sums of money and their dog destroyed, they might be more responsible.
