On 12th August, at Roseberry Topping, that distinctive hill in North Yorkshire, was chosen by 49 supporters of the Angel Trust as the venue for a their charity fundraiser.
The party of 40 adults and 9 children had a truly breathtaking experience thanks to organiser and Angel Trust supporter Michaela Tyers.
The walk to the summit was rewarded by the magnificent views of undulating countryside across Middlesbrough, Stokesley the North York Moors and even Captain Cooks Monument could be seen in the distance.
At 1,049 feet it certainly can be seen from miles around and is often compared in shape to the infamous Matterhorn of Switzerland.
The supporters all completed the climb in under 50 minutes with one elite walker reaching the summit in just 21 minutes.
The group raised an incredible £2,700 for the Angel Trust. The money will be distributed to local people within County Durham and Darlington who are facing hardship as well as support to local groups in the community to provide recreational and health and wellbeing activity.
The appetite for future walks has shown keen interest amongst supporters and Michaela is already putting a calendar of venues together that will appear on the website in the next couple of weeks.
