Dear Editor, with our brilliant Fun Day on the green event fast approaching on 11th August I would like to thank various people and organisations who have helped us to be able to put on this fabulous free event.
ACORN residents are supported by the Big Lottery Fund and are able to promote this event as a result of the generosity of lottery players across the nation.
Our fun day is located at Lightfoot Road Newton Aycliffe and runs from 10am till 2pm ish featuring inflatable slide, bouncy castle, roundabouts and entertainment free yes free of charge. Face painting is also available, and the inimitable Professor Nincompoop will be master of ceremonies with music and laughter the order of the day.
With Pet Mania and KL Ponies attending to make this one of our most exciting yet this is going to be a fantastic day for all concerned.
ACORN is well known for the events and excursions which we have engaged in over the years and this year we are raising funds for a portable defibrillator to make our events and trips a safer more reassuring experience.
For the first time we shall be running a raffle with prizes from local businesses as an attraction and must thank Gregg Little MOT and Servicing for their generous donation of a small service worth up to £100, Tesco for Donating a £10 voucher and Boyes for Donating a £5 voucher. We are also having a tombola stall with some magnificent prizes so come along and have some fun while raising cash for a worthwhile cause. Any other organisation wishing to promote their work to the general public are welcome to attend but should contact us for details. Thanks to all for your generous donations and we hope you enjoy the day.
