Dear Sir,
There are many in this country who dislike our Prime Minister, and her policies and her party. Regardless of that she is our elected leader, and when she visits another country we would like to think that, as our leader, she would be shown respect.
President Trump, as the elected leader of the USA, was not shown that respect during his recent visit.
John D. Clare has said in last week’s Newton News that he was “proud to protest”. He does stress that he was not protesting against the USA, nor the man himself.
An interesting statement.
At the recent Commonwealth Leaders Conference, many of those leaders could have been accused of some or many of the various things listed in Mr Clare’s itemised list.
To the best of my knowledge he did not protest on that occasion, so is it a case of double standards, or is it just a personal crusade against Mr. Trump?
Peter Hardy.
