A Darlington and Aycliffe family-run funeral care service has raised £250 for their local charity. Whitehouse Funeral Services raised the money in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice by taking part in the Hospice’s Giving to Life Tree campaign.
Similar to the charity’s popular Christmas tree in the Cornmill Centre, the firm encouraged staff and customers to hang messages of love and joy on a Christmas tree in their offices when making a donation to the Hospice.
John Whitehouse said: “I am overjoyed and amazed at the response we get every year. Thank you to all our staff and customers. I’m absolutely over the moon that we have been able to help St Teresa’s Hospice in this way.”
Whitehouse Funeral Services was one of the first organisations in Darlington to adopt the scheme, and staff have run it every year, raising £1,430 since Christmas 2008.
