Newton Aycliffe Scout Supporters Association would like to say a huge thank you to Phil of A1 Roadshow and his friends for organising and running the fund raising event for Cancer research UK and the Scout centre on the 19th May.
The crowd wasn’t as big as expected, with very little support from the parents of the young people that use the centre, but those that did support the event had fun, raised some funds and still made it a success so thank you everybody.
Phil and his friends managed to raise £140 for the Scouts Centre from door takings, raffle and games and also managed to raise £150 for Cancer Research from door takings, raffle, games and donations in the goblets and box.
So a total of £290 raised for these good causes. Thank you everybody.
This month we have a Charity Car Boot Sale and Fun Day on Sunday 24th June from 1.30pm till 4.30pm this is raising funds for The Scout centre, NASSL and Cians Heroes. This is being organised by DFY PARTY PLANNING. Tables are £5 for car booters and £8 for business sellers. More details are available by calling Louise on 07749 293114 or check out her facebook page.
NORTHERN SOUL returns on Saturday JUNE the 30th at 7:30pm admission is £3 on the door, and you are all welcome to come along and show off your moves or just listen to the music.
The following day Sunday 1st July is the annual Classic Car Show organised by The Northern Bygones Society. This event takes place from 10am until 4pm and there should be a good display of vehicles from the past.
The car show is being supported by 1st Newton Aycliffe Scout Group who will be doing the catering and selling tea and coffee to raise funds for their group. The Scout group is also holding a table top sale, raffle and tombola. If you are interested in booking a table to sell your unwanted items please contact Cath on 07875302982 to reserve your place.
