Council tax payers in County Durham could be in with a chance of winning an iPad simply by signing up to receive their bills online.
Anyone who opts to go digital with their council tax bill between Friday, 1 June and Tuesday, 31 July will be entered into a prize draw to win the tablet, which has been donated to Durham County Council.
Receiving council tax bills online means people can check their information at a moment’s notice and also helps the environment by eliminating the need for a postal statement.
Cllr Jane Brown, Cabinet member for social inclusion and HR, said: “We are always looking for easy ways for people to access our services, receive their bills electronically and view their council tax bills and payment history online. As well as being more convenient and efficient, it helps the environment too.
“Signing up to this system is easy and records are available 24/7, enabling people to use the system to inform us of any changes in circumstances in the future. With the chance to win an iPad, there’s never been a better time to sign up.”
The campaign, coupled with our Do it Online initiative, is about providing ease of access to everyone anywhere and at any time. Our Do it online initiative allows users to create an online account that is custom made in how they communicate with our services.
