On Wednesday 21st March 2018 the Pioneering Care Partnership is showing our support for World Down’s Syndrome day by wearing #LotsOfSocks!
PCP manages Together 21, a project providing interactive sessions for babies and children with Down syndrome that aids learning and development. Together 21 also provides vital peer support for parents and carers who are equipped with skills and techniques to help their children reach their full potential.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive said, “We want to get people talking and raising funds for this worthwhile group so let’s wear whacky socks, and make them visible! Two babies with Down syndrome are born every day in the UK. Around one in every 1,000 babies born will have Down syndrome. PCP is proud to support World Down’s syndrome Day.”
Vicki Appleby started bringing her son, Harry, to Together 21 when he was 9 weeks old; Harry will be 2 this April. Vicki says “I have gained so much confidence and knowledge since joining Together 21 and it has strengthened the bond between Harry and I.”
