The brilliant SHINE CHOIR welcomed the newly appointed Rector of the Parish of Great Aycliffe, the Reverend Ann Anderson and her husband Jeff, at her Licensing Service held on Sunday 25th February. Ann joins Reverend Elizabeth in serving the community, alongside a strong team of lay people.
The service was led by the Bishop of Jarrow, Mark Bryant with clergy representing the diocese attending. Local civic dignitaries were also represented and the Town Mayor Wendy Hillary welcomed Ann warmly.
SHINE CHOIR sang the moving worship song ‘This is Amazing Grace’ and the children, aged from 5 – 14 years of age, had also taken the time to learn to sign the song. It was an amazing performance and was received with joy from the large congregation. and everyone enjoyed a magnificent Faith Tea afterwards – especially the cake!
SHINE CHOIR will next perform at the Daffodil Coffee Morning to be held in St. Clare’s Hall on Saturday 10th March at 10am. Please come along to support them and you can also enjoy delicious bacon buns, tea, coffee and cake. There will be a raffle and plenty of home-made produce to tempt you. We hope to see you there.
