JOIN US IN HAVING YOUR SAY THIS TIME, ABOUT THE DLI COLLECTION BEING BACK UNDER ONE ROOF

In March 2016, the DLI Museum at Aykley Heads was closed by Durham County Council. It was closed without public consultation as well as vehement opposition from local people, former Regiment members as well as families of former DLI Soldiers.
Our group (facebook page “The Faithful Durhams”) would welcome any new members who have the same passion for our Counties Regimental history, so please take a look.
The Collection was split between the University (housing the Medals), Spennymoor, on an Industrial Estate, and various other locations making it extremely difficult to view any items, as well as being very inaccessible to the public.
DCC are now asking us, the public, for our opinion on “potentially” using the former Club House at Mount Oswald as a History Centre, with the potential of housing the DLI Collection.

And add your opinion in the space provided to have the whole collection housed under one roof and not spread around the county. There is also the opportunity to print off the form and post it to DCC before 18.2.18.
