Local runner Laurie Cummins from School Aycliffe has reached the age of 77 and still takes part in 5k Park Runs throughout the country.
Up to present he has taken part in 100 runs and out of those has broken 37 age category records.
The Park runs are held on Saturday mornings starting at 9am.
Laurie’s records have brought him fame, appearing on BBC T.V.
Apart from running Laurie is a sub-aqua diver with 13,000 dives to his credit all recorded and certified. He received an award from the Professional Association of Diving for his achievements.
Recently he was in Sharm, Egypt diving and taking underwater photos and videos.
Back in the UK he attends Aycliffe Leisure Centre six days a week, training with weights and exercise.
