It was a good weekend of running for Aycliffe Running Club with many races covered including Edinburgh Great Winter 5K, Durham Cathedral Relays, Gerry Kearsley Handicap at Sedgefield and Brass Monkey Half marathon in York.
Five Members of ARC travelled to York for the annual Brass Monkey Half Marathon. The fast and mostly flat road race started at York racecourse, headed South through Bishopthorpe, Acaster Selby, Appleton Roebuck and back through Bishopthorpe to finish behind the Racecourse grandstands. First to finish for ARC was John Surtees in 1:23:20 followed by Tommy Scott 1:32:06, Tracey Surtees 1:38:00, Trish Kay 1:45:43 and Sinead Croarkin 1:47:56.
