Honest John’s collection near Argos on Christmas Eve raised £406 for his Community Kitty.
Again the townsfolk were more than generous, over just seven hours, supporting local charities and organisations.
“This was just fantastic and a big thank you to all who contributed. Val my assistant even turned out against Doctor’s orders, suffering from a painful knee injury” said John.
Latest donations to town organisations include £300 to Excel Local, £350 to St. Clare’s Court Residents’ Fund, £200 to Nicola Maull Fundraising event, and £100 to St. Mary’s School.
An amount of £22,002 was raised by Honest John during 2017. He thanks DISC for providing free space within their furniture showroom so he can continue his valuable community work.
John also thanks all donors and customers for their great support saying “There is not a town like Newton Aycliffe anywhere for its generosity to people in need – a Happy New Year to everybody”.
