Dear Editor,
I would like to thank County Councillors Eddy Adam and Kate Hopper for their help in obtaining a grant of £995 to assist in financing our upcoming “LITTLE ACORNS PETTING ZOO “to be held at Easter.
Eddy and Kate are great supporters of the ACORN group attending most meetings, answering questions and offering advice.
We welcome Councillor Jim Atkinson as he joins us to make up the County Council team and is also available for advice. Grateful thanks also to West Ward Town Councillors George Gray, Arun Chandran, Martin Ashcroft and members of other groups who attend in a spirit of partnership to discuss common issues and bring us news of other areas of the town.
ACORN have once again had a very successful year producing events for the community sponsored by The Big Lottery Fund, coach trips and Parties such as Halloween. We are also enhancing our area through gardening projects with help from our friends at livin and then we had a weekend exploring London supported by Honest John’s Community Fund.
Could I also take this opportunity to wish all ACORN members for their continuing support wishing them a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
