There is a real buzz of excitement in the air at Sugar Hill Primary. The School Leadership Team have asked Year 6 pupils to apply for the much coveted positions of Head Boy and Head Girl.
All Year 6 pupils have written a letter to persuade pupils to vote for them in the first election of this kind. The school has recently been awarded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and the appointment of a Head Boy and Head Girl to work alongside Senior Leaders, staff and governors has certainly captured the enthusiasm of Year 6 pupils to write for a purpose.
As part of the election process, three girls and four boys have presented their speeches to staff and pupils during a school assembly. All pupils have cast their votes this week and the successful candidates will be appointed early next week.
Mrs Legge, Deputy Head Teacher, confirmed the competition is strong and this will not be an easy decision for pupils to make. The pupils hoping to be successful are photographed with their pledges. It’s going to be a long week for the hopeful candidates as the votes are counted!
