The Shildon branch of the Royal British Legion would like to thank all visitors who attended on Saturday 24th June. A great day seemed to be had by all. The highlight of the day was the Parachute Regiment Free Fall Team – The Red Devils as our opening event, anybody who would like any more information please visit their website www.reddevilsonline.com We would like to express our sincere thank you to the Lord Lieutenant Sue Snowdon who visit our event and did a meet and greet with the public and the units in attendance.
Thanks also to our own Town Mayor Shirley Quinn. We had the privilege of hosting two Chelsea Pensioners again this year who thoroughly enjoyed themselves meeting with members of the public and all the serving units in attendance who thank most sincerely. The branch would like to thank all those businesses who donated funds or prizes on the day and to Shildon Town Council for the assistance into the lead up to the occasion. A big thank you to the Masonic Hall, Bishop and Shildon AAP especially Councillors Nicholson and Quinn for their contribution to the event and The Red Devils
