On Friday 16th June 2017 Trustees, staff and volunteers of the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) came together to celebrate the ‘Great Get Together’ in memory of Jo Cox. Jo was the MP for Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire and became an MP after working for several years for Oxfam, she died on 16th June 2016 following a brutal targeted attack.
Her husband, Brendan, and family came up with the concept of the get together because Jo believed we have more in common that what divides us. This resonated with PCP’s community spirit and we were very pleased to be part of this huge national celebration of those who give so much time, energy and commitment to their local areas and neighbourhoods. As friends and colleagues we all brought something for the buffet which was an impressive feast for all to share. We enjoyed chatting and spending time with one another and the game of ‘People Bingo’ was fiercely competitive! Thanks to Kath Ferry at PCP for organising the Get Together…it was Great!
