Dear Sir, Is an election merely a job interview, involving status, conditions, and salary? Phil Wilson’s multitude of public communications betrays a total lack of loyalty. Perhaps this evinces the flailing arms of a drowning man. When he single-handedly brought a thousand jobs to Aycliffe with Hitachi, how many and at what level were the jobs for local people? Wilson bins Corbyn and spurns May. Perhaps as one of the Famous Five, he intends to join the splinter group of about 100 M.P.’s considering forming a new Party under the leadership of a quasi war criminal.
Mr Wilson, in his first recent communication, headed it Phil Wilson, M.P., perhaps remembering his glory days when he was a P.P.S., and stated his loyalty was solely to the Labour Party, whether or not it Is Loyalty Important? conflicted with loyalty or wishes of his constituents. A P.P.S., rather like the Lambton Worm must “crawl around to pick up bits of news” in Parliament bars, rather than do constituency work here. He denigrates Dehennea Davison the Tory Candidate, as a student, one whose continued education he claims to support, learns. A person who does not learn, lifelong, is a stone! He criticises her youth. Inevitably we all age and the lively enthusiasm of youth deteriorates into bitterness of ageing until it arrives at the wisdom of old age.
If a young person is willing to listen to all advice offered, then evaluate and act upon it, she or he, should learn to adjudicate between conflicting opinions. We hope that, for once, when June begins May is not over. Her strong leadership must steer to a successful Brexit. C & M Carter
