Dear Sir,
I was somewhat confused by the article in the Newton News about the Tory candidate for Sedgefield as it mentioned “teams of activists from Open Britain” here in the constituency.
This has certainly not been my experience in the constituency. The people helping Phil Wilson, the Labour candidate, are in fact local volunteers and residents rooted in our communities who all believe that Phil is the best candidate to be our MP.
I bumped into some of the Tory candidate’s campaigners in Aycliffe – it turned out that none of them were local they were all from Hull University Conservative Students Association. How can this be any good for our community?
I trust the local people who are backing our local candidate not posh students from Hull coming here to tell us to vote for their friend who lives miles away in Hull.
Mr Jordan Gill
