Paul Kjenstad
Paul Kjenstad was first elected as Councillor in 2013 and from starting out as a novice, has gone on to become an active member of the Council adding many strings to his bow over the past 4 years. He came with a vast amount of experience as a school governor and Vice Chairman of Governors at a local primary school. It was here, and his passion to tackle some school traffic issues, that led him to stand as a Labour Councillor. In that same year, he went on to form and chair his own community based road management group with the intention of looking after the safety and wellbeing of the town’s children when it comes to speeding and parking outside of school gates. This mission has gathered momentum over time, with some success. His job in a local supermarket ensures that he works closely alongside the residents of Great Aycliffe, keeping up to date with everything that goes on around town, constantly listening to people’s views and opinions, and is ready to help whenever called upon. Paul will continue to be proactive and ensure that the best interests of the town and its residents are at the top of his agenda.
