GACAP held their regular monthly meeting at DISC offices on Monday. Just over a dozen partners attended all contributing to the meeting. Churches were working together along with Peter Driver representing Harvest Church who said, “I am new to the partnership, so it was a really fruitful meeting, I found out so much how partners were working and how they were interacting together. It’s good to see that GACAP’s partners are certainly achieving what the partnership was set up for, working together for the good of the community”.

During the meeting all partners updated each other of the activities and events happening, from a giant Maypole Fun Day on 1st May to support from several churches with food and clothing and support for mums with babies to pamper days with clothing vouchers and Easter Egg hunts. A report on support for people with alcohol related problems with regular meetings held courtesy of Tesco’s in their community room, made available to organisations in the town. GACAP send out an invitation to all groups in the town who work to help disadvantaged people to join the partnership. the aim is to provide a cohesive service to talk and refer people to each other to ensure those needing help are fully informed and know where to receive attention.
