After having had treatments for a stress related illness, Paula Spittlehouse was so impressed that such an illness could be helped that she decided to study Holistic Therapy herself in order to help others. During Autumn 2016, Paula undertook several courses in Swedish Body Massage, Hot Stone and Indian Head Massage including facial treatments. “I couldn’t believe how much better I felt mentally and physically, allowing myself time to relax and enjoy the treatments was the best thing I could have done for myself. How often do we give ourselves some time like this? An hour out of my day once a week or a month and its benefits were amazing if not crucial for my happiness and for those close to me”.
As Paula practiced on her models, building confidence with each one, she realised that holistic therapy really did provide wellbeing for her clients, after each treatment, her clients asked to book again. “Feedback I received from my clients really boosted my confidence, knowing that I could provide a service that was affordable and professional”. By the end of 2016, Paula had received certificates in all her courses and decided to open Cherrytree Holistic Therapy, running it from her own home. Recognising that clients may prefer a friendly but professional home environment without the hassle of town parking costs, she converted a room into a ‘spa’ room. Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and emotions. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health. Prior to any treatment being carried out, Paula will carry out a consultation and explain the treatments ensuring clients are safe and suitable to have them.
As Paula’s business continues to grow, she is inspired to learn more techniques to add to her skills including reflexology, aromatherapy, and incorporating healing into massage. Paula is fully insured to carry out all practices in her home and looks forward to welcoming new and regular clients.
