Representatives of the Churches Together in Great Aycliffe committee met at St. Clare’s on Tuesday 13th December and presented cash donations of £150 each to the Aycliffe Food Bank, The Women’s Refuge and Nicola Maull. Unfortunately Nicola was unable to attend so Pam Lovelass accepted the £150 cheque on Nicola’s behalf.
The chairman of the CTGA thanked Tesco for their continued support of the Food Bank and especially for the donations of chocolates brought on the day by Shirley, the community organiser. The Food Bank are not allowed to spend cash on luxury items like chocolates so this donation from Tesco at this time of year was greatly appreciated by Ernie Temple, Volunteer/ Organiser for the Food Bank.
