What a fantastic but very emotional day was had by all, when Heighington FC met with a very brave and inspirational young man Kieran Maxwell, fighting the disease Ewing’s Sarcoma. He’s also trying to raise as much money as possible and is doing a fantastic job, so after a £200 donation from the football club, on a presentation cheque kindly donated by Newton Press, along with a shirt with his name on the back, we managed to get a cheeky photo as readers will see above. We would like as many people in the Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas to help Kieran achieve his goal. You can do this via Kieran’s facebook page or you can contact Heighington FC and we will gladly pass on any cheques and donations received. There was also a big gathering at Heighington Village Green on Tuesday night at 6pm for Carol singing, all to raise money and awareness of Kieran’s fund, where you will also see the Police Interceptors. Please support Kieran – Search for Kieran Maxwell Legacy, click about, then click the link at the bottom of the page. #heighingtonfcwithkieran Today’s cup game was also for Kieran.
