Newtonian Shanaya Atkinson Jones performed in one of 16 regional finals of U.K. Open Mic on Sunday 23rd October at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House, Newcastle and she “nailed it”. She was the 19th of 19 competitors to perform, singing “I Am Changing” by Jennifer Hudson. There were 5 judges, from the music industry, T.V. and stage and the feedback given was “tremendous stage presence, a true Diva performance, you will be a star” along with the only standing ovation of the show! Shanaya is so “truly happy” to now be in 1 of only 5 Area Finals to take place in Dewsbury on Saturday 19th November 2016 at 4pm.
