Dear Sir,
We are the parents of Charlie Lough, aged 15 (above) and Emily Halford, age 14, both from Newton Aycliffe. Charlie delivers Newton News.
On the weekend of 19th/20th March we attended ‘Move It’ Dance Convention with our dance school, Stepping Out, at London’s Excel. The girls attended lectures with famous choreographers, spoke to colleges, watched performances and basically had fun.
We had a fantastic weekend with individuals being offered amazing opportunities. Charlie and Emily have both been fast tracked straight to the live heats of The UK Dance Elite Championships after being spotted by talent scouts.
Charlie and Emily have been offered an invitation to attend ‘The Hollywood Summer Tour’ in LA and Charlie has a partial scholarship. Emily was spotted whilst taking part in a Lecture and the ‘Freestyle Stage’ which was open to anyone. She won the event, beating well known televised dancers.
At present the videos on Facebook alone have attracted over 10,000 views. This is an invitation only summer school who only take around 20-30 dancers per year from all over the world.
We decided this is a once in a life time opportunity for the girls and with the support of their schools, dance schools, family and friends we are fundraising to get the girls to Hollywood.
We are going to hold a Hollywood Disney Princess and Hero themed party for local children and try and organise a large raffle.
Please watch for the date and give your support.
