Pupils who have been involved in the Future Business Magnates Enterprise programme received a visit from Nicola Cook, an award winning entrepreneur, on Friday 15th January. She is renowned for her engaging, energetic and passionate style which has inspired audiences around the world. Nicola was visiting Greenfield Community College as part of the Speakers for Schools programme and she talked to the pupils about her journey from being “a fairly average Consett lass” to Chief Executive Officer of Company Shortcuts, a business devoted to improving business results by injecting skills, passion and strategy to help improve sales.
She gave the pupils an insight in to her top ten tips for being successful in business and encouraged them to work harder, work smarter and offer more in order to be winners.
Students asked a range of questions ranging from “how do you achieve a work-life balance?” to “have you ever encountered sexism on your journey to become a successful business woman?”
Nicola is also an international author and her books on professional selling and personal & business growth have been best sellers in the business field.
