Aycliffe couple Brian and Eleanor Nichol have donated £1,037 to the Great North Air Ambulance, proceeds from turning their home and garden into a Hallowe’en “Spooky House” and inviting visitors to be scared. Over 700 turned up paying a small admission charge for charity.
Brain spends a month transforming his house into a horror scene using numerous scary props.
Brian said “It was wonderful to see the reaction from children who in the main laughed at what they saw – it was the adults who were more scared!”
He has run the event for four years and will repeat it in 2016. The couple are now considering producing a “Winter Wonderland”.
