Locally based learning provider ITEC North East has successfully delivered training and support to local young people and employers for over 30 years. For 25 of those years, Sue Wright’s first- hand experience has seen the business constantly evolving to achieve and maintain the overall infrastructure necessary for success in the 21st century.
Currently employed as marketing administrator, Sue joined the company in 1990 and still remembers working remarkably effectively with the necessary tools of the day, a phone, desk-pad and card index system on her desk. Technology has undoubtedly transformed how the business now operates but Sue has no doubt that ITEC’s extra special strength is, and always has been, the people she has had the privilege of working with and the learners who have been an important part of the company success.
“My original job role as a Placement Officer gave me the opportunity to meet and monitor the young people who applied to ITEC to become part of our YTS scheme, a very different world compared to the apprenticeship programmes we deliver today.
I feel a genuine sense of pride when I hear how some of our learners have progressed in their careers, especially when they are contacting ITEC as the decision makers within their companies and are looking to recruit new apprentices into their businesses.”
To mark Sue’s achievement of 25 years continuous service, her colleagues totally shocked her with a lunch and presentation at Woodham Golf Club. Sue was presented with a round of golf for two and afternoon tea at Rockliffe Hall Hotel and Golf Resort.
Tracy Wilson Managing Director of ITEC stated “Sue Wright is a real asset to ITEC NE her knowledge, skills and ability have contributed greatly to the success of ITEC NE over the past 25years.”
