A massive thank you to all who came and helped us celebrate our 60th Anniversary and Patronal Service of St. Clare’s last week-end. It was so good to meet all who streamed through our doors on Saturday to view the photographic display and enjoy some refreshments.
The air was buzzing with your past memories of St. Clare’s from meeting a lovely chap who helped build the church, to a lady who was a server at the Consecration Service 60 years ago.
Past clergy from near and far came to offer their congratulations, along with numerous cards and letter’ that arrived all week to wish us well. Our thanks to Mayor Mary Dalton who attended both day’s – her stamina is unbelievable.
Thanks to Vince Crosby
(Youth & Community Centre), Brian Riley (GAMP) and Nicky Wheatley (manager of Rose Lodge Care Home) who loaned us display boards.
Unclaimed raffle prizes are White ticket 596 (Bolton, champagne) and green ticket 380 (chocolates). Please call in at the church any morning after 9-30am to collect. Also thanks to everyone who loaned us material for our exhibition
Special thanks to Syd Howarth from Newton News who came along both days to record our celebration. Syd has been part of this town as long as the church and has always supported our efforts.
Again many thanks to everyone who came along to show their support of a church that has been at the heart of this town and community for 60 years. Here’s looking forward to the next 60.
God bless you all.
