For many years Honest John and his fundraising stall in the town centre has been helping local organisations by raising funds on their behalf. This time it was on behalf of the Newton Aycliffe Spartans, the towns own baseball team, and the only baseball team in the North East of England. The Spartans are working hard on introducing the sport to the local community by developing their adult and junior sections, the donation of £600 from Honest John will go a long way to help their cause.
John Johnston the team manager said, “We are overwhelmed by the donation and the selfless way in which Honest John works for the community week in and week out, come rain or shine.”
