This weekend sees the church of St. Clare celebrating its 60th anniversary and we would love readers to call in and help us celebrate this wonderful occasion.
On Saturday the 8th between 10-00am and noon, there will be a Coffee Morning with a photographic display held in the main church hall. The photos on show chiefly tell of some of the many “special events” that have been held in St. Clare’s over 60 years.
They consist of Baptisms, Confirmations and Weddings, with lots of photos showing St. Clare’s community events held by children’s groups, uniformed, and women’s organisations over the years.
Please do try and come along and view these photographs, you never know you might find yourself among them! Our Mayor Mary Dalton, along with her son Michael will be attending both events held over the week-end.
On Sunday August 9th we celebrate our Patronal Service at 10-00am in church. If it’s been quite some time since you were inside this beautiful building, maybe you would like to remember “your special day” held there, and come along and give thanks for it?
We welcome each and every one of you reading this article, and thank you for your support over these past 60 years. St. Clare’s has always been known as the “Town Centre church”, and is always here for every one of you.
It would be lovely to see you at either one of our special days, where you will be made most welcome. Our prayer for this week-end is that “God continues to bless, lead and guide us, as we witness to all his people throughout this town and beyond”.
