With the theme of “Stars & Stripes” U.S.A. Independence Day, the North East Theatre Organ Association present a Fantastic FREE Festival of Organs at the New Victoria Centre, Howden-Le-Wear, on Saturday 4th July – 11.00am-2.30pm to be enjoyed at NETOA’s Annual Fete.
The MIGHTY WURLITZER is delighted to welcome special guest the PERLEE STREET ORGAN which will delight everyone with its brilliant continental sights and sounds, normally heard in Amsterdam, Brussels or Paris and other European towns and cities.
This Perlee Street Organ was made in Amsterdam in 1983 rented to Street Organists to make a living who had to manually crank the bellows to provide the wind needed to play the music which is on cards with punched holes. Unique to each tune for the Organ scale, the Perlee has 56 keys.
Also to enjoy at the Fete are many stalls including Plants, Cakes, Games, Music/CD’s, Tombola, Teas and Tours to show how the Mighty Wurlitzer works. This is a” FUN DAY OUT” come along and enjoy a memorable day.
