Dear Shoppers,
Thank you all for your generous donations to our bucket collection in Tesco on 15th/16th May. The total amount raised for Christian Aid was £831.82.
Not only did we raise a fantastic amount but we also got to meet some lovely people especially when they said comments like: “I used to help my Mam when I was a little girl pushing envelopes into letterboxes.” Another shopper said: “Thank you for doing this.” An old lady said: “Oh, I was hoping you would be here.” So, all the organising makes it all worthwhile with comments like this and it lifts our spirits. It was a pleasure to meet you all.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of Tesco and the help of the staff on the day. We do appreciate it and want to thank the management of Tesco for allowing us the space and time in their store for this collection.
Christian Aid reaches out to people all over the world in tragic circumstances like the recent earthquake in Nepal where people lost their lives, their homes, their livelihoods. It’s great to know that the good people of Newton Aycliffe have reached out to them in their hour of need.
