Great Aycliffe Town Council are again organising a series of free public events during half term to keep families from the town entertained over the holidays. More information is available by contacting the Council on 01325 300700.
Pond dipping on Tuesday 26th May 10.30am – 12 noon at Aycliffe Nature Park. During this ever popular event there will be an opportunity to discover what we can find living in the pond at Aycliffe Nature Park.
Bring your nets, buckets and wellies if you have them and meet at the entrance to the Nature Park off Travellers Green.
Mini-beast Hunt on Wednesday 27th May 2pm – 3pm at West Park near Boating Lakes. We’ll be looking for insects around the park which make this area of town their home. The Council’s Environment Officer will be on hand to assist in finding and identifying the creatures which we find. Wellies may be required if you have them.
Wildflower Planting on Wednesday 27th May from 3pm to 4pm at West Park near Boating Lakes. Here is a great opportunity to assist in planting a selection of small plants such as Knapweed, Poppies and Cornflowers within the meadow at West Park to help brighten up this corner of the park during the summer months. All tools will be provided.
