Room 13, our School in the Cloud Lab at Greenfield Arts had more visitors from around the world lately!
Earlier in April we hosted visitors from Barclays Life Skills, who, after travelling from their headquarters in London for the visit, watched a SOLE session and then spoke to our fantastic Engineheads about SOLEs, what it means to them, what they’ve been developing for Room 13 and the impact it is having on teaching and learning.
We also talked about the skills SOLEs encourages for life and for developing a career. It was really interesting to think about the skills of resilience, perseverance, independence within the context of careers.
Last week we had a visit from teaching professionals from the Netherlands, who visited Room 13 as one of the stops on their tour of schools around the North East, as they considered “Thinking for learning.”
The two groups had the opportunity to see SOLEs in action and talk about how it can be applied in their schools in the Netherlands. They enjoyed seeing Room 13 and talking again to the Engineheads, as well as the opportunity to speak to Head teacher Mr Priestley about life and learning at Greenfield.
These are just two examples of visitors to Room 13, which continues to be successful. To keep up to date and find out more about SOLEs visit our blog greenfieldarts.wordpress.com
