Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership holds its first AGM on Wednesday 22nd April at 7pm after the Consultation Meeting with local residents on its plans to build an extension to Agnew Community Centre to provide a Welfare Hub.
The extension will house “Helping Hands” and another Foodbank plus other welfare services to help disadvantaged people in the area.
The Agnew Centre has land avalable for a similar size building and it is hoped the proposal will receive funding from sources known for supporting voluntary sector projects.
All voluntary and statutory welfare organisations are invited to the AGM and join the partnership if not already members. The idea of the partnership is for members to co-operate with each other to avoid duplication and ensure people in difficulties receive the help they require.
