The Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe is the Hub for the “Colour your Life” project which provides access to creative and informal learning activities for the improvement of mental health and the development of emotional resilience.
Details of new courses coming soon are as follows:-
Introduction to Sculpture – Starts Wednesday 15 April, 1 – 3pm for 10 weeks. Explore some of the many techniques using casts and moulds.
Learn to make a series of sculptures using unique 3D materials
Illustration and Collage – Starts Friday 17 April, 10am – 12noon for 10 weeks. Create your own visual representation of images, objects and experiences whilst exploring collage, painting and drawing with ink, pencil and pen
Dig Art Family – Saturdays between 10am – 12noon from 18 April. Garden fun for all the family making artwork from materials gathered from the garden. Make outdoor sculptures using reflective, tactile, musical and recycled objects.
Dig-in Gardening – Mondays 10am – 12noon (ongoing through till Autumn) Learn about and take part in wildlife and flower gardening and growing your own vegetables
Healing Voices – Starts Friday 8 May, 1 – 3pm for 10 weeks. Use your voice freely and confidently in a fun and informal singing group with a relaxing sound bath beforehand to help you unwind and de-stress!

PCP uses professional experienced tutors to deliver these stimulating and inspiring activities. The Colour your Life team are currently looking for someone to deliver the Home Maintenance course.
