Brian Sowerby of Pestguard Newton Aycliffe has been a professional pest controller and mole catcher for over 30 years. He catches moles on golf courses, lawns, farmer’s fields, airports, etc.
In all that time he has never caught an Albino Mole until 27th March in a customer’s rear garden in Woodham.
Albino moles are very rare and Brian has known only two others caught in the Dales.
There are a lot of moles about this year – more so than previous years, mainly down to milder weather and lack of snow and frosts.
It`s coming to the breeding season, so expect a lot more activity on lawns and gardens where you will see shallow runs just under the soil and grass tunnel mounds which is males looking for mates.
If you have a problem with moles contact a professional mole catcher ASAP as your lawn or garden will end up looking like a farmer’s ploughed field.
