It’s been a successful time for Greenfield Community College’s Year 8 sports enthusiasts. The girls’ Netball and Basketball teams are South West Durham Champions!
The Netball teams were successful at their championships held in Bishop Auckland. The winning teams were unbeaten throughout the night – beating St John’s in the final 2-0. Well done to Sam Stamp and Abbi Greener – who were named players of the tournament! A big thank you to the Greenfield Sports leaders Amber Dolby, Sam Clark, Sophie Hayes, Millie Foster, Lucy Ryans & Becky Adams, who have helped to train the teams and officate at the tournaments.
The Basketball team also dominated at their championship tournament at Durham Johnston School – beating Bishop Barrington in their final match. This is the 2nd consecutive year that the Greenfield team has won the championships – well done to all the players and to Molly Clark who was named player of the tournament!
