In the recent Darlington & District Badminton League Tournaments Aycliffe Badminton Club emerged with two trophies. Firstly in the Men’s Doubles Stuart Dennis teamed up with Kieron Pearce of Larchfield to win, this was Stuart’s third victory in the Tournament following his triumphs in 2005 and 2008 each with a different partner!
The second trophy was for Ian Boyd who was the runner up in the Men’s Singles for the second time after being the beaten finalist in 2011, maybe it will be third time lucky next season!
Both men are part of Aycliffes mixed doubles team who are currently pushing for promotion back to the A Division at the first attempt after last season’s relegation, the team are currently 3rd in the league with the top 2 gaining promotion.
