Description of Business: Accommodated in The Aycliffe Armoury, on Northfield Way, Newton Aycliffe the Army Reserve Centre is a purpose built centre able to house its fleet of modern 32-tonne Recovery and Support vehicles, in addition to workshops, classrooms and modern offices. The centre also has its own fully equipped gymnasium that can be used for free at any time by members of 124 Recovery Company. The Army Reserve Centre also boasts a thriving Junior Ranks Club and Officers and Sergeants’ Messes which enable our hard working personnel to relax and socialise with families and friends.
As a member of 124 Recovery Company you will be trained and practiced in individual and team skills to prepare you for a rewarding career as a member of the REME Reserve. Many of these skills are transferrable to vocational trades and easily recognisable to the many supportive employers across Yorkshire and Humberside.
In addition to supporting you through to trained soldier status, we will bring out your leadership and communication skills, while managing your military trade training through a progressive career path. Whatever trade you choose to follow, we will give you the confidence, skills and pride that make you immediately recognisable as a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
We are proud that soldiers of 124 Recovery Company have served on operations around the world, including Bosnia, Cyprus, Iraq and more recently Afghanistan. Operations in Afghanistan end in 2014, but there are many other opportunities for REME Reserve to serve with their regular army colleagues on operations and exercises across the globe.
124 Recovery Company is formed from men and women from a multitude of civilian employments across The Tees Valley. We provide a friendly, welcoming and professional environment where you will be fully supported during your training and career.
We guarantee you will be challenged and learn lots of new things, but we also know you will have lots of fun doing it – and the best bit . . . you will be paid!
