Boosting the local economy, providing activities for young people and supporting the community and voluntary sector, including Older People have been chosen by the people of Newton Aycliffe as their priorities for the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership  (GAMP) to address from April onwards.
More than 250 local people attended a Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP) forum event to vote on the issues they thought needed the most development in 2015/16.
A vote identified the following three areas as priorities, which were later formally agreed by the GAMP Board:
• Activities for young people
• Employment, enterprise, education and training
• Support to the community and voluntary sector, including older people
Brian Riley, GAMP coordinator, said: “We are grateful to the town’s residents for setting GAMP and its partners challenging priorities for the forthcoming year. It is now up to the board, task groups and the GAMP team to take these priorities forward throughout 2015 and into 2016.”
