When my cousin Michelle Mason told me about getting a specially adapted trike for her disabled son Jack, I could see the disappointment in her face when she was refused funding!
Even when the words came out my mouth about doing a fund raiser, I had my doubts about raising the cash, people turning up, getting prizes etc. Well can I just say we smashed it, and I am absolutely over the moon, and can’t wait to see my gorgeous little Jack on his trike in 4 weeks time.
Thank you to all who came to support us on Saturday 6th September and a big thank you to all who donated prizes. Massive thanks to Claire Wingfield, a singer with a fantastic voice, and Paul Gittins the best DJ in the North East, who gave us a night to remember.
Thanks also to Newton News for the generous publicity – the target amount to be raised was £1087, and we raised a total of £1289.
