At the recent Darlington 10k Aycliffe Running Club had an entry of thirty runners, which was the biggest ever for the club.
In ideal conditions for running there were several PBs and Yvonne Williams was delighted to get under the 60 minute barrier for the first time.

On the previous Thursday six of our athletes competed in the Preston Park 5k Trail race.
This sixth in the summer series of Tees Trail races was favoured by fine sunny weather and attracted an entry of nearly 200.
Peter and Sue Milburn were the stars of the show this evening and both finished first in their age groups.
Peter was also first home for the club, 15th in 19:31, followed by Dave Blewitt, 42nd – 21:34, John Burnside, 43rd – 21:39 and 2nd v/55, Susan Milburn, 86th – 24:14, Angela Barrett, 106th – 25:27, Yvonne Williams, 168th – 30:45, Ray Todd, 169th – 30:46th and Michael Smith, 187th 34:43.
Four members of the club competed in last Sundays Ray Harrison Memorial 10k at Billingham.
The blustery winds went against anyone achieving a good time, but it didn’t stop Angela Barrett gaining 2nd place in the f/35 age group and wasn’t far behind Trish Kay who was first home for the club.
