August sees the retirement of Pip Wells, the Examinations Officer at Woodham Academy.
Mrs. Wells joined Woodham in 1977 as a member of the Mathematics Department. For a period in the 1980s she left to raise her young family.
She rejoined Woodham in 1990 and as Head of Department for several years, during which time much progress was made by the department and many students went on to study the subject at university.
In recent years Mrs. Wells has brought her organisational skills to the management of exams which have been conducted faultlessly.
Ian Bickerdike, Deputy Headteacher, said, “Pip has been a great colleague to work alongside. Many thousands of the town’s residents will have benefited from her teaching. She has always had young people at the focus of all she has done.
We all wish her well in the future.”
