The 1st Newton Aycliffe Scout Group recently held their 60th Anniversary camp at Moor House Scout Headquarters, Durham. 56 Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts accompanied by 18 adult leaders and helpers had a really great time over the weekend.
Activities included Rifle Shooting, Archery, Frisbee Golf, Tobogganing, a Climbing Wall, Drumming, and a Sing Song round the Camp-fire on Saturday night.
Arts and Crafts were also available indoors during frequent showers. A full cooked breakfast, sandwiches and various drinks for lunch, and a two course dinner was provided for everyone, seconds and even thirds were enjoyed by the younger members of the Group. The smiles on their faces made all the hard work worthwhile.
On behalf of the group, I would like to thank all of the leaders and helpers who made the weekend a success. We will be having a stall at The Great Aycliffe Show to raise more funds for future activities. Please come along and support us.
