Rubbish and recycling collections in County Durham will take place as normal during the August bank holiday week. (w/c 25 August). Residents should put their bins out by 7am on their usual collection day.
People can check their collection day by entering their house number and post code into the My Durham section on www.durham.gov.uk Residents are reminded to ‘Bin it right’ to make sure their recycling can continue to be used to make new products.
Durham County Council’s ‘Bin it right’ campaign encourages residents to put the right items in the right bin to stop recyclable material being contaminated and spoiled by items that can’t be recycled.
