Parents and Year 5 pupils were invited into Woodham Academy for their Annual Science Evening recently. After delivering very successful and popular Harry Potter science sessions for the past two years, the department decided on a new theme for the sessions and parents’ evening.
After asking the students the department embarked on a “frozen” themed series of sessions, where the students and parents could look at the science of all things cold.
They had great fun making ice cream and artificial snow as well as a number of other frozen experiments.
The evening was so successful the department will be running three sessions next year to link in with their new Woodham Sparkies Primary Science Challenge. The dates of the next parents’ evening will be Wednesday December 3rd 2014, where students and parents can explore the fascinating world of astrophysics.
